About The Position

This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus and will involve in-person interviews at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility, with offers made on the spot for qualified candidates. The role is part of BAE Systems' Electronic Systems division, which works on advanced electronics for aerospace and defense, including applications in C4ISR and Operations. The job requires full-time, 100% on-site work at a BAE Systems facility. The schedule is first shift on a 9/80 basis, with every other Friday off. This position requires US citizenship due to a government contract.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 3-4 years of work experience
  • Use of predetermined methods, diagrams, blueprints, operations, setups, and prescribed specifications to visually inspect in-process and completed products (electronic units and subsystems, test equipment, precision electromechanical assemblies, or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds).
  • Use of various measuring devices and testing equipment (continuity tests, etc).
  • Ability to accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
  • Ability to work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer, regulatory and BAE specifications, drawings, or inspection instructions and checklists.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Perform line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.
  • Identify and document defects, NCR reports, and calculate defect rates against specified control limits.
  • Inspect and test components, subassemblies, and assemblies after rework, modifications, or repairs to verify defects have been corrected and ensure continuity to drawings, prints, etc.
  • Verify configuration of product to ensure conformity to most recent revision.
  • Prepare basic inspection data and input into the Shop Floor Data System for future review and evaluation.
  • Maintain required records, feedback, and updates.
  • Conduct process audits in all phases of manufacturing and inspection (i.e., calibration, materials, process sheets, etc.) to confirm processes are being accurately followed.
  • Regularly interface with engineering regarding technical issues (i.e., clarification of engineering change orders) and problem resolution.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
  • US citizenship

Responsibilities

  • Inspect components, subassemblies, and assemblies against required quality standards using specifications, drawings, process sheets, engineering change orders, and verbal/written instructions. This includes checking for proper component orientation, masking, soldering, and coating.
  • Utilize precision tools such as verniers, microscopes, and gauges for inspections, and potentially more complex tools like omega meters.
  • Identify and document defects, calculate defect rates against specified control limits.
  • Inspect and test components, subassemblies, and assemblies after rework, modifications, or repairs to verify defect correction and ensure continuity to drawings and prints.
  • Verify product configuration to ensure conformity to the most recent revision.
  • Prepare basic inspection data and input it into the Shop Floor Data System for review and evaluation, and maintain required records.
