This position applies technical knowledge to provide maintenance and mission support of the Utah Tactical Data Link System (UTDLS), Air Combat Training System (ACTS), and similar Airborne Instrumentation Systems (AIS). The role involves supporting UTDLS/ACTS live monitor operations, including debriefing of recorded missions, and assisting in organizational preventive and corrective maintenance on assigned equipment. The technician will input pod ID and aircraft identifying data into P5CTS system databases and must learn and retain familiarity with various systems used to track and debrief missions for tenant units at Hill AFB. Responsibilities include performing administrative audits on P5CTS computer systems, monitoring and recording live missions for RTO or future playback, and obtaining, inputting, and configuring system information and parameters. The role requires proper completion and maintenance of historical logs for system parameters and transmitted information. The technician will also train and perform cross-utilization tasks, maintain the work area, and handle various data formats. The position demands strong electronics background, computer skills, and the ability to work professionally and calmly in high-stress situations involving flight operations, communications, and debriefings. The employee must accept additional duties as assigned and perform them in accordance with applicable instructions, standards, and regulations. Computer literacy, ease of learning operating systems, and the ability to perform duties with some supervision are essential.
