About The Position

This National Guard position is for an Electronic Integrated Systems Mechanic (Title 32), WG-2610-12/13, with the Florida Air National Guard’s 125th Fighter Wing. The mechanic performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on complex electronic integrated aircraft systems. Duties include operational checks, inspections, testing, troubleshooting, and removing and replacing line-replaceable units (LRUs), including units linked to integrated systems and those associated with nonintegrated systems. The mechanic isolates unusual malfunctions using technical orders, schematics, wiring diagrams, tools, and test equipment, including automatic test equipment and Flight Line Test Systems. The work includes analyzing system installation, circuitry, and operating characteristics; adjusting and aligning system components; installing serviceable components in aircraft; and conducting systems alignment, harmonization, and operational checks in accordance with technical orders and directives. The position also involves complying with technical orders, modifying systems and components, and maintaining, modifying, calibrating, and inspecting test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment. The position requires working knowledge of complex aircraft avionics and electronic countermeasures systems and their related components, including flight-control and navigation systems, displays, communications equipment, instrumentation, and engine, hydraulic, and fuel-quantity indicating systems. The mechanic evaluates system operation using waveforms, voltage, current, power indications, computer registers, and printouts; analyzes fault codes; determines repair sequences; and completes repairs. Work generally takes place indoors in well-lit, heated, and ventilated areas, but may also occur on aircraft in elevated, restricted, or confined spaces and outdoors in adverse weather. The work involves exposure to electrical and RF hazards, burns, noise, and explosive devices, including chaff and flares. The role requires Florida National Guard membership in a compatible military assignment and wearing the military uniform.
