About The Position

The purpose of this position is to perform maintenance which includes areas of expertise in electrical maintenance and installation, instrumentation, controls, PLC/DCS programming and troubleshooting. This role requires full proficiency in a range of technical processes and applies understanding of how efforts achieve organizational objectives. The technician may act as an informal resource and solves problems in straightforward situations, impacting their own quality and effectiveness of work. They will explain complex technical information within and outside of their own team and must meet near-term targets with moderate impact on team deliverables.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 3 years experience required.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment operations and care.
  • Experienced in ARC and MIG welding.
  • Mechanical knowledge of bearing changes, pumps, and conveyors.
  • PLC/DCS knowledge.
  • Must meet near term targets with moderate impact on team deliverables.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and respond to instrumentation and electrical repair and troubleshooting, including working with motors, motor starters, running conduit, and wire pulling, as well as troubleshooting and repairing PLC/DCS systems.
  • Move, set, and calibrate controls such as knobs, valves, switches, levers, and index arms on control panels.
  • Monitor and address control process variables such as flows, temperatures, pressures, vacuum, time, and chemicals, by automatic regulation and remote control of processing units including heaters, coolers, thermal oxidizer, and compressors.
  • Determine malfunctioning units by observing control instruments, such as meters and gauges, or by automatic warning signals, such as lights and sounding of horns.
  • Inspect equipment to determine the location and nature of malfunctions, including leaks, breakages, and faulty valves, and determine repair and maintenance needs.
  • Patrol units to verify safe and efficient operating conditions.
  • Lubricate equipment as necessary.
