  • B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics plus 2+ years hands-on experience with semiconductor or precision electro-mechanical systems. Or M.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Physics plus 0 years experience
  • Comfortable with: Vacuum systems (leak checking, pump types, gauges, seals)
  • RF power & matching basics; grounding, EMI/RFI, shielding
  • Gas handling (MFCs, valves, regulators, purging) & pneumatics
  • Tools including Python, JMP, MATLAB, or LabVIEW, TwinCAT
  • Standard laboratory instrumentation, including but not limited to oscilloscopes, VNAs, RF VI probes, multimeters, leak detectors, and thermal sensors
  • Reading schematics, PIDs, and wiring diagrams
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently as needed as well in a multi-national, collaborative and highly innovative team environment.

  • 0–2 years hands-on experience (internships, labs, senior projects) with semiconductor or precision electro-mechanical systems. Master’s with no experience accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Build scripts (e.g., Python/JMP) or LabVIEW routines to automate equipment and capture/clean/analyze logs.
  • Author clear experimental reports, translating data into hypotheses, evidence, and next steps.
  • Design and execute DOEs to validate performance windows and sensitivities, feeding critical learning back into the Engineering and Controls teams.
  • Maintain EtherCAT mainframe and infrastructure in the laboratory.
  • Mechanical design experience with CAD software.
  • Own the uptime and maintenance of of R&D semiconductor etch and deposition tools and ancillary equipment.
  • Triage down tools and troubleshoot vacuum systems (UHV/HV), RF / DC generators & matching networks, gas panels/MFCs, and thermal control.
  • Perform preventive maintenance adapted to research cadence; implement failure pareto and recurrence controls while maintaining experimental agility.
  • Conduct MSA/Gage R&R studies where measurement fidelity affects conclusions.
  • Modify R&D semiconductor etch and deposition tools and ancillary equipment, plan/mechanize non-standard configurations (RF/DC generator and matching network changes and custom fixtures).
  • Maintain the lab and all equipment in accordance with Environmental Health and Safety regulations.
