About The Position

This Electronic Controls Technician maintenance position performs predictive maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on processing, packaging, and material handling equipment, some of which is controlled by state-of-the art automation. This equipment ranges in age from new to 35 years. You will determine the root cause of any breakdowns that occur and put corrective actions in place to prevent a reoccurrence. You will work closely with the Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction. You may serve on a variety of different teams such as Fire Prevention, Safety, Innovation, and Capital Projects.

Requirements

  • A proven personal safety record
  • 2-5 years related technical experience and/or military experience
  • Working knowledge of aspects of electronic control systems including but not limited to PLC's, HMI's, motor starts, variable frequency drives, DC drives, electrical schematics wiring conventions and standard electrical components including 480 volt industrial control circuits, electrical motors and drives
  • Experience inspecting equipment using predictive maintenance technologies such as: oil analysis, infrared, ultrasonic, thermal imaging, etc. in order to prevent failures and ensure reliability
  • Demonstrated initiative in solving problems, making repairs, troubleshooting, and developing corrective actions
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including 12 hour days and weekends as business dictates

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Nice To Haves

  • Experience troubleshooting or programming Allen Bradley PLCs is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures
  • Maintain high-speed sorting, filling, capping, and robotic palletizing systems.
  • Program and calibrate temperature controls, mixers, and digital weight scales.
  • Ensure barcodes, scanners, and date-coders communicate correctly with the main tracking software.
  • Follow strict Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and cleanroom protocols before entering production zones.
  • Support and troubleshoot PLC's, HMI's, motors, servos and frequency drives, robotics, sensors and electrical distribution systems.
  • Partner with Mechanics and Electricians to resolve equipment electrical problems that create performance deficiencies.
