Electronic Component Engineer (BT-26202)

Bastion Technologies•Houston, TX
•Onsite

About The Position

The Electronic Component Engineer supports EEE (electrical, electronic, and electromechanical) parts for NASA government-furnished equipment (GFE) flight projects and programs. The position is located onsite in Houston, Texas (77058), reports to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager, and works within a group of 50 other Electronics and Electrical Engineers. The role follows a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off; some travel may be required. Schedules may change based on position or customer needs. The engineer evaluates parts for hardware criticality and environmental suitability, reports findings to the EEE Parts Control Board (PCB), recommends replacement parts, and assists with part failure investigations. The position also supports qualification plans, screening, Non-Standard Part Approval Requests (NSPAR), and review of military and industry specifications, standards, and studies for NASA applications. Employees must pass a national agency check, pre-employment drug screening, and periodic random drug and alcohol screenings. Some positions may require clearance and extensive background verification. The role generally takes place in an office environment, but tasks may involve inside or outside work. Regular attendance is critical, and the employee must be able to adjust schedules to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
