About The Position

Amentum is seeking an Electronic Component Engineer to provide electrical, electronic, and electromechanical (EEE) parts support for NASA Government-Furnished Equipment (GFE) flight projects and programs. The role works within a group of approximately 50 Electronics and Electrical Engineers and reports to the Electronics and Electrical Section Manager. The position supports NASA programs by evaluating EEE parts for hardware criticality and environmental suitability, advising on part selection and replacement, and supporting qualification, screening, and failure investigations. The engineer reviews military and industry specifications, standards, and studies for NASA applications; reports manufacturer, materials, construction, derating, and reliability findings to the EEE Parts Control Board; and supports NSPARs and related documentation. The position may be advertised at multiple levels, with selection based on candidate experience, requirements, and business needs. Amentum lists a starting salary of $98,500, with final compensation based on experience, skills, and qualifications. The work is generally performed in an office, though tasks may involve indoor or outdoor work. The role involves sitting or standing for extended periods, and may require lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds. Standard office equipment is used. Regular attendance is critical, and the employee may need to work outside the normal schedule or adjust schedules during peak periods and surges. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency may be required, and candidates must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
