Position Overview The Electronics Component Buyer/Planner is responsible for purchasing and production planning of electronic components used in commercial and consumer devices. This role ensures material availability, supports SMT production scheduling, and drives efficient supply chain operations through data analysis, supplier management, and inventory control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in consumer electronics and purchasing components such as PCBs and metal fabrications
  • Strong understanding of procurement, inventory, and supply chain processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard business tools
  • Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines
  • Experience with price negotiation and supplier management
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications (preferred)
  • 3+ years of related experience and familiarity with inventory systems or consigned inventory (preferred)
  • A background check and drug screen is required upon accepting an offer of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing demand and planned orders to create purchase requisitions and place POs
  • Tracking purchase orders, supplier acknowledgements, delivery dates, and costs
  • Monitoring shortages and communicating risks or delays to internal teams
  • Maintaining and updating purchase orders through completion
  • Planning and scheduling SMT production for printed circuit board assemblies
  • Managing inventory, including kitting for new product development
  • Analyzing data to develop stocking strategies and improve supply performance
  • Identifying excess inventory and coordinating disposition efforts
  • Ensuring compliance with supplier agreements and contracts
