About The Position

Performs assembly of products, circuit boards, cables, and/or starters from work orders, sample assemblies, verbal instruction or blueprints. Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other. Performs assembly for special customer orders. Assembles and attaches hardware to assemblies. Mounts assembled components. Assembles modules and other items as needed for repairs. Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified characteristics. Finishes all modules involving packaging, labeling, coating, etc., as necessary. Tests assembled equipment to locate defects, using functional test instruments. May perform assembly operations under microscope or other magnifying device. Dismantles equipment and replaces worn or defective parts to repair malfunctioning equipment. Assists Level I Assemblers with more complicated assemblies. May be required to operate powered industrial vehicle. Continually improves processes; quantitatively monitors processes. Completes required quality core classes and uses skills and techniques presented. Uses The Core Values in work environment. Adheres to company/customer safety procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess a basic understanding of theory of electronics and electronic parts; must have ability to read prints; must have experience or training in soldering.
  • Ability to: read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization; add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; perform these operations using units weight measurement, volume, and distance; apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions; deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
