The Electrical Assembler performs a broad range of skilled electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical assembly and subassembly tasks to build complex units, including power supplies, printed circuit boards, modules, chassis drawers, cable harnesses, and integrated electronic and mechanical systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 5 years or more of related experience
  • Experience in assembling through-hole and surface mount circuit boards.
  • Working knowledge of RF coax to component connection methods for SMA and K connectors. Including proper RF torque wrench usage
  • Ability to use electronics assembly tools, wiring and electrical assembly tools
  • complete tasks utilizing effective and efficient methods
  • Work with minimum supervision and recommend process or product improvements
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Attention to detail
  • Must have the legal right to work in the U.S. and additionally must be legally authorized to access export-controlled information and source code.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally up to 5%

Responsibilities

  • Assemble microwave RF systems and circuits
  • Perform assembly operations, including wiring, component installation, and hand soldering
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble, and test units; diagnose and correct malfunctions as required
  • Perform precision operations such as drilling, reaming, burnishing, and tapping on small parts (typically ¼” / 6 mm or smaller)
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings; rework parts to incorporate engineering changes
  • Assemble and install electrical and electronic components in accordance with schematics, blueprints, wire lists, diagrams, verbal instructions, and established procedures
  • Utilize a variety of specialized hand tools, including soldering irons, wire strippers, crimpers, wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers
  • Set up and operate automatic and semi-automatic assembly equipment, including fixtures, as needed
  • Perform mechanical assembly of moderately complex components; conduct troubleshooting and adjustments to meet performance specifications and tolerances
  • Conduct solder rework on surface mount (SMT) and through-hole components
