About The Position

Electronic Assembler SUMMARY: Use a variety of tools and equipment to assemble parts, pieces, modules, and/or components to required specifications for Navigation Aides, Surveillance Radios, and other Products as required. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Before Assembly Ensure workstation is in proper working order (clean, well-lit, well-ventilated, tools ready, personal protective equipment is applied, etc.) Review BOM’s or Work Orders for each project, take inventory of parts & materials, and make determinations of acceptance/rejection for parts based on quality of workmanship Review wiring charts, diagrams, engineering assembly drawings, or other schematics to understand board layout, proper placement, and orientation, and take any needed measurements Prepare solder pot (pre-tin soldering iron, pre-tin parts as needed, etc.) During Assembly Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, & vision magnification to: 1. Complete mechanical assembles as needed 2. Cut wire and vinyl tubing to length 3. Insert component parts (such as resistors, diodes, LED’s, integrated circuits, dip sockets, PLCC sockets, capacitors, inductors, transistors, voltage regulators, microchips, etc.) into Circuit Boards or Printed Circuit Boards (PCB’s) 4. Install connectors to correct polarity and pinout specifications 5. Operate wire crimps and inspect terminals for proper crimp 6. Combine sheet metal, PCB’s, cables, or harnesses to produce modules 7. Assemble components and modules up to the top system or “cabinet level”, according to Institute for Printed Circuits (IPC) and Indra standards 8. Make sure systems and sub-systems meet industry and established specifications 9. Make any necessary corrections (remove/replace elements, remove/reapply soldering, check connections, measure battery voltage & polarity, etc.) 10. Ensure timely product delivery, by adhering to deadlines per Scope of Work agreements 11. Perform any other required job duties as assigned After Assembly Complete any re-work as necessary when prompted by other stakeholder departments Interface with our Engineering and Production departments for product reliability File Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s), with supervisor approval, when needed

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • 18+ months experience in Electronics Assembly
  • Must be able to pass a U.S. government background check investigation.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
  • Lifting of heavy test equipment and systems up to 30lbs individually.
  • Appropriate manual dexterity needed to work with variety of hand and power tools.
  • Vision correctable to 20-20, with no color blindness or color vision deficiency.
  • May involve long periods of standing on one’s feet.
