About The Position

The Electronics Assembler III is responsible for performing tasks within their technological specification in the manufacturing process, adhering to manufacturing documentation and allocated time, utilizing available resources including conventional and/or digital machine tools, and inspecting their own work. This role requires the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The position involves working from assembly instructions, parts lists, wire lists, diagrams, verbal instructions, and notes to assemble, wire, and install a wide variety of components. The assembler will identify and select components for sub-assembly and assembly units, use a range of tools including a soldering iron, and interface with a PC to record job activities. A key aspect of this role is the ability to read and understand Engineering drawings, including revision nomenclature, and follow assembly work instructions such as drawing assemblies and MAI (Manufacturing Assembly Instructions). The assembler must also learn and utilize company resources like MRP-SAP, Chorus 2.0, and Team Center to verify related documents and procedures. Additionally, they will assist the line lead in ensuring calibration and certification of test equipment and hand tools, and support continuous improvement programs by following Lean Concepts and 5S guidelines. Flexibility to assist in other production lines, the warehouse/stockroom, and the kitting team, as well as helping the assembly line when required, is essential. The schedule is 5:30 am - 2:00 pm with overtime, and the company is looking for individuals willing to work overtime to help the team catch up. Strong electronic/mechanical assembly (not electrical) experience is required, with cabling and/or harnessing experience being a significant plus. The ability to read drawings and build from them is also crucial, along with familiarity with hand tools, cutters, screwdrivers, and crimping tools.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or one-year certificate from college/technical school or two to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in electronic mechanical assembly and/or cabling and harnessing
  • Ability to communicate and understand verbal and written instructions
  • Excellent Team player with proven ability to accomplish goals through collaboration
  • Flexible with jobs that can assist in other areas
  • Strong in Electronic/Mechanical assembly (NOT ELECTRICAL)
  • Reading drawings and building from drawings.
  • Hand tools, cutter, screwdrivers.
  • Familiarity with crimping tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Cabling and/or harnessing exp is a big plus.
  • Adequate Computer knowledge to look up engineering EOs using local database and other required documentation prior to starting a job
  • Prototype cable manufacturing experience (IPC-620 certification)
  • Mechanical assembly (IPC-610 certification)
  • Soldering skills (IPC-610 certification) a plus

Responsibilities

  • Works from assembly instructions, parts lists, wire lists, diagrams, verbal instructions, and notes to assemble, wire and install a wide variety of components
  • Identifies and selects components to be integrated into sub-assembly and assembly units

  • Know how to read and follow assembly work instructions including drawing assemblies and MAI (manufacturing assembly instructions)
  • Must be able to learn and utilize Company's resources such as MRP-SAP, Chorus 2.0, Team Center to verify all related documents and procedures.
  • Assists the line lead to ensure calibration/certification on all test equipment and hand tools are up to date and/or turn in to tool crib for calibration and certification.
  • Support the line and actively participates with continuous improvement program by following Lean Concepts and 5S guidelines.
  • Must be flexible with jobs that can assist in other production lines, warehouse/stockroom, and kitting team as well as helping assembly line when required.
