About The Position

This role is for an Electroneurodiagnostics Technologist in the Neurodiagnostic Lab at Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis Hospital. The technologist will be responsible for attaching and operating electrodes for electroencephalograph (EEG) machine procedures, reviewing patient records, instructing patients, monitoring patients during procedures, identifying and correcting artifacts, editing and forwarding results, and maintaining EEG equipment and supplies.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • One or more of the following required: Electroencephalographic Technician credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following required: Technologist specializing in Neurophysiologic Intraop Monit credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following required: Technologist specializing in Evoked Potential credentialed from the ABRET Neurodiagnostic Credentialing & Accreditation (ABRET) obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • One or more of the following required: Tech specializing in Nerve Conduction Study obtained within 24 Months (2 years) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Certificate from an accredited Neurodiagnostic program
  • At least one year of experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Attach, connect, and operate electrodes from specified body areas to leads from the electroencephalograph machine.
  • Review the patient's record and instruct patients before procedures.
  • Monitor the patient during procedures and report any abnormal findings.
  • Identify and correct for artifacts.
  • Edit and forward results to the attending physician for analysis and interpretation.
  • Maintain EEG equipment and supplies.
