About The Position

Our patients are our number one priority! We're committed to giving children back their childhood! This role involves performing advanced neurophysiology testing procedures, including EEG, EP, NCS, and EMG, using age and developmentally appropriate guidelines. The technologist must effectively handle multiple tasks and maintain professionalism during stressful situations. Responsibilities include managing clinic schedules, preparing patient charts, interpreting reports, organizing data for physician review, and entering required information for reporting. The role also involves educating patients and families about procedures, ensuring the availability and integrity of equipment and supplies, and performing routine testing under supervision. Complex tests like EEG, EMG, and NCS will be conducted and analyzed as trained. The technologist will observe, measure, and record electrical activity and brain wave patterns using an encephalograph, monitor patient comfort, and troubleshoot equipment. Effective communication with team members and neurologists is essential. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Associate degree in Applied Science or higher is preferred or a graduate from a CAAHEP accredited Neurodiagnostic program CoA-NDT, CAAHEP.
Hold at least one (1) registration by ABRET preferred.
R. EEG T or R. EPT certification required by end of first year of employment with SRC.

Responsibilities

Performs advanced neurophysiology testing procedures (EEG, EP, NCS, EMG) using age/developmentally appropriate guidelines.
Maintains clinic schedule and contacts patients to schedule procedures.
Prepares patient charts and interprets information accurately from reports.
Prepares, organizes, and summarizes data for physician review.
Enters all required information for reporting purposes.
Educates patient/family about diagnostic procedures and provides pre- and post-education.
Cleans, replenishes, maintains, and assures availability of instruments and supplies for patient safety.
Ensures electrode and equipment integrity, maintains and catalogs supplies, and patient preparation.
Performs routine testing under supervision; writes a descriptive technical analysis, calculates nerve conduction values.
Conducts and analyzes complex electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocity NCS, or other neurodiagnostic tests.
Observes, measures, and records the electrical activity and brain wave patterns by using an encephalograph.
Monitors patient’s comfort during tests.
Inspects, analyzes, and troubleshoots client systems and equipment, runs tests, interprets the results, sources replacement parts, and negotiates costs with suppliers.
Communicates effectively with team members and Neurologist physicians.
Performs other duties as assigned.
