About The Position

The Electromechanical Technician III provides critical support for R&D activities and product development. This role involves building, testing, and maintaining complex equipment that integrates mechanical, electrical, and computer components. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work and can successfully navigate a project from a concept sketch to a functional prototype while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., engineering, chemistry (molecular), experimental theoretical physics) OR Associate's degree AND 4+ years of hands-on experience assembling and proficiency using hand tools for equipment assembly and parts modification OR Military AND 4+ years of hands-on experience assembling and proficiency using hand tools for equipment assembly and parts modification OR High School Diploma or equivalent AND 5+ years of hands-on experience assembling and proficiency using hand tools for equipment assembly and parts modification OR equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Assemble and build machinery using hand tools, power tools, soldering irons, welders, etc.
Assist the engineering team in determining product configurations based on utility and performance evaluations.
Assist in developing build paths to move products from concept-stage sketches to functional prototypes.
Operate specialized equipment, such as carbon growth and post-processing tools, as directed by the engineering team.
Perform routine maintenance and daily inspections on tool sets and facility equipment.
Diagnose and repair issues with lab equipment, facility equipment, and electromechanical machinery.
Maintain lab cleanliness and organization in collaboration with the Lab Manager.
Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs), specification documentation, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Complete progress forms and document all test results to maintain accurate records of product development.
Partner with engineers, scientists, and project leads to confirm resource availability and evaluate design performance.
Ensure all work is done with an emphasis on safety.
