About The Position

The Electromechanical Technician III will maintain, operate, adjust and install industrial production/processing and facility systems in a safe and reliable manner to support the plants’ goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • All tools that are required for this position (hand, power, electrical, testing, etc.) are to be supplied by the employee. These tools must be maintained and organized in safe and satisfactory manner.
  • 12+ years of industrial mechanical, electrical, electronic, and instrumentation experience in a food processing/manufacturing facility
  • Good listening skills and habits are essential for this position.
  • Excellent ability to resolve issues and solve problems through personal interaction.
  • Above average verbal and written communication skills essential.
  • Some knowledge of Spanish.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret production data.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and percentages.
  • Demonstrates a high level of accuracy, thoroughness and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Expert capability in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial plant equipment and systems (power transmission, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.)
  • Advanced capability in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial plant electrical equipment and systems including but not limited to 480VAC to 24VDC.
  • Advanced capability in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial plant electronic equipment and systems (actuators, robotics, safety circuits, etc.)
  • Advanced capability in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial plant instrumentation equipment and systems (Chart Recorder, I/P Transducers, temp/pressure devices, etc.)
  • Expert capability in repairing, maintaining, installing, replacing and testing electrical circuits and equipment within the plant using various hand tools and testing instruments.
  • Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, and other elements of electrical systems.
  • Expert capability to read, understand, and utilize blue prints, schematics (electrical and pneumatic), technical manuals, and P&IDs.
  • Expert ability to weld (Mig, Tig, & Arc), fabricate, and machine for repairs on equipment and installation/support for new projects.
  • Advanced PLC troubleshooting and program editing skills, as required to meet production requirements.
  • Intermediate capability to create new PLC logic that improves processes.
  • Must have advanced working knowledge of Boilers, Wastewater treatment, Air compressors, and HVAC-R.
  • Creates work orders and accounts for part usage utilizing the CMMS.
  • Submits requisitions to order parts and materials.
  • Supports Maintenance Planner to coordinate the successful completion of planned work.
  • Fills in as backup to supervisor to ensure a smooth shift transition by providing information on carryover and on-going jobs to incoming maintenance crews/shifts.
  • As required, support on-going projects in support of plant goals.
  • When assigned, works with and provides guidance for contractors that are engaged in providing outside services.
  • Support the technical growth of the team through on-going training.
  • Technical resource for the production team for the fulfillment of their on-going production targets. This includes, but is not limited to start-up support, technical training, equipment center-lining, instrumentation calibrations, preventative/predictive maintenance activities in support of reliability-based Maintenance, root cause failure analysis and other continuous improvement/lean activities.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) in a food processing facility.
  • Adhere to all procedures and practices associated with Food Safety, Food Security and Food Quality
