About The Position

SQA Services is hiring for an Electro-Mechanical Inspector Level 2 position in Phoenix, AZ. This is a part-time, 2-3 days per week, 1-year contract opportunity supporting the first shift. The role involves inspecting electro-mechanical parts and requires a passion for mechanical products and a keen eye for quality. Candidates must be available to travel to California for a one-week training program, with all travel and accommodation expenses covered by the company.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with electro-mechanical parts inspection.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards.
  • Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.005†) using hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges).
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and software.
  • Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check.
  • Must be ITAR compliant.

Responsibilities

  • Incoming inspection from external providers of products or services/processing (e.g., nickel plating)
  • FAI, PO, COC and process certification documents
  • In-process and/or final inspection of critical features, including witness inspection (e.g., CMM program run)
  • Compilation of final inspection sign-off sheet or inspection package
  • Verification that the inspection equipment used to take measurements is capable of detecting defects.
  • Verification that the inspection methodology is adequate per drawing intent.
  • Review and validation of justification for any part not inspected at final inspection.
  • Assure products are free of gaps, mismatches, fairing, and of acceptable contour and waviness.
  • Assured products are of good workmanship and within specified workmanship standards (e.g., oil canning, riding conditions, loose fasteners, drill starts, scratches, dings, burrs, fastener edge distance, etc.)
  • Verifying all visible part finishes, paint, and skin quality are acceptable to the required visual standards.
  • Verify hardware cleanliness and absence of internal or external foreign object debris.
  • Verify safety wire has been applied in a negative pull orientation, the correct number of turns, and pigtails are tucked in according to specification requirements.
  • Verify fasteners are properly installed; assure the torque stripe is continuous from the head to the surface and of the correct color
