About The Position

Advance Effects is growing! Join the team as an Electromechanical Inspector. In this role you will perform detailed visual inspections of in-process and finished products—including electronic units, subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies, mechanical units, and subassemblies—to detect structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds. Utilize a variety of tools and reference materials such as blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawings, inspection instructions, and checklists to ensure all products meet rigorous quality and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with reading blueprints

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform electronic and/or hybrid inspection of complex electrical assemblies, components and systems.
  • Able to describe nonconformance situations and assist in the cause and resolution.
  • Able to review reworked and repaired items for acceptance.
  • Able to understand drawings and drawing notes.
  • Must have reasonably good manual dexterity
  • Computer Skills and CAD preferred
  • Perform mechanical measurements, using various measuring instruments GD&T methodology.
  • Perform simple surface plate set-ups, micrometers, height gages, optical comparators, etc.
  • Ability to move, position, reach and transport 35 pounds repetitively.
  • Ability to withstand repetitive contact with water and moisture.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Receiving Inspection, In-process Inspection, and Final Inspection functions
  • Use various measuring devices, fixtures and test equipment.
  • Document non-conformance using a computer.
  • Visually inspect in-process and completed products such as electronic units and subsystems, precision electromechanical assemblies or mechanical units, subassemblies, structural flaws, internal defects, and missing welds.
  • Accept, reject, or rework defective or malfunctioning units or systems.
  • Work from blueprints, diagrams, dial indicators, preset micrometers, scales, fixtures, customer specifications, drawing or inspection instructions and checklists.
  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.
  • Perform line clearances after each lot to ensure all materials from the previous lot have been removed.
