About The Position

This is a full-time role for an Electromechanical Assembler 3 in Irvine, CA. The position involves supporting the production of electronic and electromechanical assemblies, ensuring quality and throughput. The work will be performed onsite during an early shift (5:30 AM – 2:00 PM), with collaboration among Quality, Production Control, and Engineering teams to meet schedule and performance targets. The role directly impacts product readiness and manufacturing efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six (6) or more years of related electronics assembly experience
  • Certification to IDC Specialist and J-STD-001
  • Proficient microelectronic assembly skills and experience with cable harness and PCB assembly
  • Mechanical troubleshooting skills and familiarity with torque requirements
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and technical documents
  • Basic computer skills to log work orders and access timecards
  • Ability to operate winding/braiding machinery, torque wrenches, digital multimeters, up to 12kV Hypot, soldering irons, cutters, wire strippers, crimpers, heat guns, microscopes, and common hand tools
  • Ability to occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds and meet vision and physical requirements described

  • Prior experience identifying and eliminating production bottlenecks
  • Experience participating in continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Perform electronic and electromechanical assembly and subassembly work on a semi-repetitive to repetitive production basis
  • Apply ESD controls, resistance welding, soldering, epoxy mixing, bonding, and packaging techniques
  • Assemble cable harnesses and PCBs; perform mechanical assembly of small parts and meet torque requirements
  • Conduct high-voltage potting and high-voltage testing; operate microscopes for microelectronic assembly
  • Interpret blueprints, job travelers, test specifications, service bulletins, and quality directives
  • Maintain productivity and quality metrics; complete weekly assignments and report failures, FOD, parts shortages, and safety incidents to your supervisor
  • Lead and participate in lean initiatives and suggest areas for process improvement
  • Ensure equipment calibration per schedule and comply with safety and department rules
