About The Position

Hood Packaging is a manufacturer of quality packaging materials with operations across Canada and the United States, boasting 23 production sites. The company has grown through innovation and strategic acquisitions, expanding from its origins in the cotton business to encompass flexible packaging skills in paper, plastic, and woven substrates. The Montreal division specializes in the production and printing of plastic film for the food industry and other sectors requiring quality flexible packaging. Hood Packaging is currently seeking electromechanics for its Saint-Léonard plant, inviting enthusiastic individuals who believe in exploring possibilities and making a difference to join their family-owned manufacturing business.

Requirements

  • Professional or technical degree (DEP / DEC) in electromechanics, electrodynamics, control instrumentation or any other equivalent field.
  • Class C Electrician Qualification Certificate required
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar position.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a unionized company is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Intervene in a timely manner for repairs in the event of a breakdown in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical or pneumatic systems to ensure good performance and optimize downtime.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance of equipment according to the pre-established program on EAM, and record data on computer, and collaborate in improving the system in place.
  • Keep all technical documentation related to its activities up to date (technical plan, work procedure, etc.).
  • Install new equipment.
  • Modify equipment when necessary.
  • Be available to answer calls and travel when needed.
  • Be available to work overtime when required.
  • Watch out for emergencies and promptly notify and report any dangerous anomalies or potential SQF contamination.
  • Keep the workplace clean and tidy.
  • Apply the various safety rules.
  • Apply the Hood Packaging company’s food safety and quality policy.
