About The Position

This Electromechanic position at TOPPAN Packaging Americas in Terrebonne involves performing preventative maintenance on equipment, ensuring auxiliary equipment like chillers, compressors, and HVAC systems are operational, and utilizing necessary hand tools for maintenance activities. The role also requires ensuring proper functioning of machine safety guards, collaborating with lead process technicians to schedule downtime for preventative maintenance, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. TOPPAN Packaging Americas operates 22 locations across North America, Latin America, and Europe, specializing in sustainable packaging solutions for various sectors including food, retail, and medical. This is a night shift position, 8 hours, with a starting rate of $40.43/hour, with eligibility for wage progression upon completion of training and required programs.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems and machine functions
  • Ability to operate shop equipment (mills, grinders, welders, band saws)
  • Knowledge of compressors, chillers, and HVAC systems
  • Ability to read, write, and understand technical schematics
  • Ability to read and understand work orders, production documents, and instructions (written and verbal)
  • Ability to accurately record and maintain production data
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electromechanic or Electrician in an industrial environment
  • DEP or DEC in Mechanics or a minimum of 3 years of industrial mechanical experience
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electronics
  • Knowledge of electricity and the Quebec Building Electrical Code
  • Strong troubleshooting skills (electrical, electronic, mechanical)
  • Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics
  • Knowledge of industrial mechanics
  • Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of drives and PLCs (Eurotherm, B&R, Yaskawa, Omron, Allen Bradley, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate in English

Nice To Haves

  • Electrician C license
  • Experience in reliability maintenance
  • Knowledge of flexography

Responsibilities
