About The Position

This role supports high-volume STERLING Vikrell tub and shower manufacturing operations across Production and Distribution facilities. As a Maintenance Mechanic I, you will learn the skills and techniques needed to support maintenance operations through hands-on training and guidance from experienced team members. You will assist with maintaining a safe, organized work environment, preparing tools and materials for assigned jobs, and supporting Maintenance Mechanics with equipment repairs and maintenance activities. Success in this role requires a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous learning, including the consistent use of safe lifting practices such as the buddy lift method when handling heavy or awkward parts.

Requirements

  • Must be able to work in the US without restrictions or sponsorship.
  • Effective communication skills for manufacturing production processes.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to communicate effectively for manufacturing production processes.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform the essential duties of the position, including bending, lifting, and pushing weights of up to 45-106 pounds or more.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
  • Reliability: Consistent attendance and work performance.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety policies and procedures.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Mechanical proficiency and willingness.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in Maintenance.
  • Associates degree in Electro-Mechanical technology or equivalent desired
  • Competency demonstrated through technical testing.
  • Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all operations possible in order to learn the skills of the trade.
  • Assist in getting proper materials to job and delivering parts to shop for repair.
  • Clean and condition parts to be repaired.
  • Assist Mechanics in moving and assembling production equipment.
  • Check out necessary tools and equipment from storeroom as directed.
  • Keep tools clean and in order.
  • Become familiar with, and know how to apply all types of lubrication.
  • Assist in maintaining and issuing tool crib supplies.
  • Remove scrap material and maintain an orderly area where work is being done.
  • Learn to read simplified dimensional drawings.
  • Apply protective color coatings to equipment, machinery, floors and similar items.
  • Be responsible for the proper storage of all materials and equipment that is used in the performance of the job. Maintain storage areas in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Participates in the Safety and Good Housekeeping Programs as established within the plant.
  • Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the Supervisor.
  • Trained on all applicable SOPs, LOPs, policies and procedures.
  • Obtain forklift certification and operate forklift.
