About The Position

We are looking for an evening shift electrical technician at our Saint-Jérôme plant to support production activities and maintain equipment in good condition while overseeing electrical and control improvement projects. Under the supervision of the Maintenance Department Director, the incumbent's primary role will be to intervene during machine and/or equipment breakdowns, diagnose issues, and resolve them as quickly as possible. This also includes performing preventive maintenance, modifications, and/or equipment installations.

Requirements

  • Hold a DEC in industrial electronics or a combination of a DEP in electricity or electromechanics and an AEC in an automation field.
  • Possess at least five (5) years of experience in an industrial environment.
  • Know Allen Bradley programmable logic controllers.
  • Know ABB ACS series variable speed drives.
  • Be efficient, autonomous, methodical, organized, and precise.
  • Demonstrate good teamwork and initiative.
  • Possess good analytical skills, be conscientious and flexible.
  • Be results-oriented, while respecting safety standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Possess an electrical "CÉ" (License C) competency certificate as an electrician or a mandatory CCQ journeyman card.

Responsibilities

  • Follow appropriate preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform additions or modifications to PLC programming.
  • Work with motor controllers (drives).
  • Perform adjustments and repairs during equipment breakdowns.
  • Locate faults and determine their cause.
  • Order appropriate materials to ensure proper equipment functioning.
  • Implement improvements to process equipment.
  • Perform calibration of instrumentation devices.
  • Provide technical support to production employees.
  • Work safely, keep the workplace clean and safe by respecting existing safety rules.
  • Perform any other tasks requested by their supervisor.
