About The Position

The Electro-Optical Technician will be responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex mechanical and electrical schematics, executing assembly and testing procedures with precision. This role involves diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical components, investigating and resolving assembly defects, and performing environmental screening. The technician will manage multiple priorities, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and maintain meticulous documentation. Handling customer-owned equipment and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings and test procedures
  • Experience in assembling, configuring, and testing complex electromechanical systems
  • Skilled in identifying, analyzing and resolving electrical and mechanical issues
  • Ability to load, configure and verify software on integrated hardware systems
  • Proficiency in operating large test equipment
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with engineers, production teams and management.
  • Ability to think critically, identify inefficiencies in processes, suggest improvements and be open minded to change.
  • High Standards in quality with attention to detail, capable of learning and taking on new tasks with an increasing level of responsibility
  • Ability to reflect on ones’ own thoughts, emotions and actions with the intent to improve the collective effectiveness and success of the team

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret complex mechanical and electrical schematics, ensuring precise execution of assembly, and testing procedures
  • Execute the assembly of complex electro-mechanical assemblies using precise attention to detail, and strict adherence to process. Handle and apply chemicals, primers and sealants as part of the assembly process, with strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical components, including but not limited to motors, sensors and wire harness assemblies, to ensure optimal system performance and reliability
  • Investigate and resolve assembly level defects by collaborating with senior technicians and engineers, contributing to continuous product development and process improvement
  • Execute environmental screening, operating thermal chambers and vibration tables, running tests scripts, and analyzing performance data to validate system integrity
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities, balancing assembly, testing, and troubleshooting tasks to meet critical project timelines and production goals
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration, work closely with Operation Engineers, production teams, and management to tackle complex technical challenges and drive innovative solutions
  • Ensuring meticulous documentation, maintaining detailed records of assembly, maintenance, test results, troubleshooting efforts and implemented solutions
  • Handle customer-owned equipment (as required), with precision and care, performing diagnostic testing, electro-mechanical repairs, and upgrades while ensuring compliance with all quality standards
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies in assembly processes, recommending enhancements, and implementing best practices to optimize system quality and workflow efficiency.
