  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering, mathematics, or science field
  • Systems engineering background
  • Excellent presentation and written communications skills
  • Strong customer coordination experience
  • Expertise in performance analysis of IR camera systems
  • Experience leading complex design trade studies
  • Ability to lead technical teams to meet cost, schedule, and performance goals.
  • Expertise in infrared sensor systems and supporting, mechanical, and optical systems.
  • Transition of high technology product from Development to Production
  • Troubleshooting and failure analysis of sophisticated hardware.
  • Ability to obtain a secret security clearance, must be a US Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree or PhD from an accredited college in related discipline
  • Understanding of FPA manufacturing technologies
  • Expertise in detector material design and trades
  • Closed cycle cryogenic systems expertise.
  • Vacuum packaging
  • MATLAB programming expertise
  • Radiometric testing and analysis of IR systems or sensors
  • Familiar with high vacuum and ESD handling requirements
  • background or familiarity with electronics and equipment related to infrared video collection, analysis, and test
  • Understanding of reliability engineering and 6 sigma principles.

  • CAMEO and DOORS expertise

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical teams (mechanical, electrical, optical) through concept definition, trade studies and detailed design of EO/IR sensors.
  • Develop and execute performance models and analysis of focal plane arrays, optics, thermal behavior and signal to noise metrics.
  • Create and present clear technical briefings, status reports and design reviews to internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Own program planning: define task breakdowns, monitor schedules, track budgets and earned value metrics, and report risks and mitigation actions.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineers, fostering an inclusive, collaborative work environment.
  • Perform system level debugging and root cause troubleshooting; provide technical direction to resolve failures quickly.
  • Coordinate customer interactions, manage expectations, and ensure contractual deliverables are met on time and to specification.
