About The Position

Installs, maintains, and repairs direct and non-direct patient care equipment, including beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, sterilizers, patient lifts, medication carts, and other electro-mechanical equipment. Performs preventive maintenance and minor maintenance of plumbing, electrical, mechanical equipment, systems, structures, and other general maintenance. The position responds to trouble calls, work requests, and emergency situations; assists colleagues in other trades as needed; uses a CMMS work order system to document time and completed work; and helps maintain buildings and grounds.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED and the required experience, or a technical school diploma in a trade such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC.
• Three years of experience in electro-mechanical repairs, or less than one year of experience with a technical school diploma.
• Ability to read mechanical/electronic schematic drawings and blueprints.
• Knowledge of pneumatics and hydraulics.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, including knowledge of electronic circuitry, wiring diagrams, and mechanical system operation.
• Proficiency in electro-mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
• Ability to perform trade skills associated with plumbing, electrical and mechanical operations, carpentry, and general maintenance.
• Valid Pennsylvania driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair beds, stretchers, patient lifts, blanket warmers, sterilizers, wheelchairs, other rolling stock, and related equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
• Perform minor maintenance of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical equipment, systems, structures, and other general maintenance.
• Respond to trouble calls, work requests, and emergency situations.
• Assist department colleagues of all trades as needed.
• Use the CMMS work order system and promptly document time and work completed.
• Maintain buildings by repairing windows, doors, roofs, floors, and stairways, and assist with grounds maintenance.
