About The Position

The scope of work shall include all manufacturing and Maintenance areas of the Piney Flats site to ensure safety, reliability and efficiency of all equipment and buildings. The role involves performing preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery and supporting systems, troubleshooting and repairing electrical components, diagnosing mechanical issues, and collaborating with engineering and production teams. EH&S compliance is a critical aspect of this role, requiring adherence to environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment with strong electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Proficient with diagnosing and repairing AC/DC motors, control circuits, PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), and HMIs.
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, gearboxes, conveyors, and production automation systems.
  • Familiarity with lockout/tagout, arc flash, and NFPA 70E compliance.
  • Knowledge of thermocouples, RTDs, and other sensors commonly used in process manufacturing.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or holidays, as needed.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in hot, cold, or dusty industrial environments.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders/scaffolding for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in the battery or chemical manufacturing industry.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 or IATF 16949-compliant environments.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) software.
  • Ability to support Kaizen or Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production machinery and supporting systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical components such as PLCs, sensors, motors, drives (VFDs), relays, and control panels.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues involving hydraulic, pneumatic, and electromechanical systems.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical blueprints, schematics, and manuals.
  • Assist in equipment installations, upgrades, and commissioning.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, parts used, and system modifications.
  • Ensure all work complies with OSHA safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies.
  • Maintain inventory of critical parts and tools; recommend ordering as needed.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and failure mode analysis for recurring equipment issues.
  • Support calibration and instrumentation efforts related to manufacturing and testing processes.
  • Understand the importance of conformance with the environmental policy relevant procedures and the requirements of the EMS (Environmental Management System).
  • Understand the environmental impacts associated with their work activities and the environmental benefits of improved personal performance.
  • Understand their role in achieving conformance with the environmental policy, relevant procedures, and the requirements of the EMS, including preparedness and response.
  • Understand the potential consequences of deviation from specified operating procedures.
  • Immediately report any accidents and releases to the Supervisor.
  • Comply with all environmental, safety, and health rules, policies, and programs established by the company to the extent of training received.
  • Does not take risks. Notifies immediate supervision of any unsafe condition and actively participates in finding appropriate solutions.
  • Supports the site safety culture and promotes safe work in every aspect of his/her job.
