About The Position

American Hydro is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician for their York, PA facility. This role involves performing routine maintenance, inspections, and services on all facility machines and equipment. The technician will also be responsible for cleaning machines and parts, removing and reinstalling parts as needed, and implementing preventative measures to reduce potential problems and fix safety hazards. The company emphasizes a tight-knit team environment and seeks detail-oriented, hardworking individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular routine maintenance such as inspections and services on all facility machines and equipment.
  • Thoroughly clean machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling when necessary.
  • Apply preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of potential problems.
  • Fix potential safety hazards to avoid injuries.
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action.
  • Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Test equipment to check reliable, safe operations.
  • Verify equipment operation after repairs, changeovers, or extended downtime.
  • Make preventive maintenance checks and inspections of assigned equipment, report findings to supervisor and take appropriate action.
  • Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes and, where possible, take corrective action.
  • Notify maintenance department supervisor of recurring equipment malfunctions and corrective action taken, and of quality/safety problems or supplies needed.
  • Instruct and direct any maintenance trainees assigned.
  • May do paint and other types of upgrade work.
  • May work on building, grounds, office maintenance, roof repair, plumbing, etc.
  • New office/plant equipment installation/commissioning.
  • Completion of any other assigned duties.
  • Set up, adjust, and maintain assigned production equipment and machine tools.
  • Maintain the quality of the company’s production equipment including hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, and basic electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctions in production machinery and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain machinery and equipment in accordance with blueprints, schematic drawings, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Set up and operate metalworking machinery and tools, such as lathe, drill press, and grinder to make and repair parts.
  • Wire control panels, motors, sensors, and power systems according to schematics and technical drawings.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical circuits, motors, gearboxes, pumps, and PLC-controlled systems.
  • Quickly identify root causes of mechanical and electrical issues using testing tools and schematics.
