About The Position

The Electro-Mechanical Technician Level 2 is responsible for the day-to-day troubleshooting and preventative/predictive maintenance of material handling equipment. This role acts as a material handling technician on all equipment installed at the Northlake, TX site location. The technician will also aid and mentor lower-level employees. Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required. This role is for 3rd shift, Friday - Sunday, 6pm - 6am.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
  • Demonstrates a knowledge of 1-2 years of experience in a technical or specialty area.
  • Proven experience in the area of responsibility and a successful demonstration of position and key tasks as presented above.
  • Ability to be customer-facing while maintaining professional communications through email and in-person conversations with onsite customer leadership, Dematic leadership, and technicians.
  • Responsible for leading projects, teams, and advising on day-to-day operations and tasks to the onsite maintenance team.
  • Capability to lift and move material up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching, and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Occasionally push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • Niche skill training/certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including belt tracking, component adjustment and replacement, and component lubrication.
  • Complete preventative maintenance routines, documentation, and procedures to ensure equipment longevity.
  • Use electrical test equipment to troubleshoot electrical circuitry and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Build and close work orders into the asset management system with detailed data on labor hours, equipment maintenance, and parts used.
  • Troubleshoot conveyance problems and determine the resources needed for successful resolution.
  • Locate and supervise spare parts from inventory to minimize downtime.
  • Perform sophisticated maintenance and equipment testing to ensure they meet stringent specifications.
  • Aid with training customers to operate equipment effectively and safely.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and address equipment failures and faults.
  • Identify problems as they occur and take appropriate steps to tackle them, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Acts as a material handling technician on all equipment installed at the Northlake, TX site location.
  • Aids and mentors lower-level employees.
