A day in the life You start your shift with a quick review of maintenance logs, then head straight to the production floor to triage an equipment fault. Working independently, you trace the issue through electrical and electronic systems, confirm the root cause, and restore operation. You log the repair, raise a requisition for the part that needs replacement, and note where the backup spare is located. Later, you walk a preventive maintenance route, fine-tuning settings to improve reliability. In the afternoon, you coach teammates on best practices for electronic repairs, call a vendor contact for a technical bulletin, and wrap up by tidying your bench—leaving the area spotless and safe. What you’ll tackle Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a full range of equipment with minimal supervision. Apply strong knowledge of in-house equipment, shop procedures, and core mechanical principles. Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation. Pinpoint failed components, know the location of spares, and submit precise requisitions for parts and supplies not in stock. Support and mentor maintenance team members to strengthen their electronic repair capabilities. Uphold a clean, orderly, and safe work environment at all times. Pitch in across multiple skill areas when needed and remain adaptable to changing priorities. Own and execute a preventive maintenance program designed to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and dependability. Build and maintain productive relationships with vendors and equipment technical resources. Perform additional related duties as required.
