You dive into schematics, validate measurements, and bring a gearbox, hydraulic circuit, or crane component back to spec—safely and fast. Your mission Protect uptime and safeguard people by diagnosing issues, executing precise repairs, and strengthening the reliability of complex mechanical systems across our steel operations.

Requirements

  • Comfort working on your feet—standing, walking, bending—and at heights in extreme temperatures for extended periods.
  • Experience with precision measurement instruments.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Welding, cutting, fabrication, and equipment maintenance experience (1+ years preferred).
  • Heavy industrial/manufacturing field experience (1+ years preferred; 3+ years strongly preferred).
  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

  • Live our CMC Safety Culture—follow all rules, wear PPE, and contribute to our safety programs.
  • Use test equipment and hand tools to diagnose malfunctioning systems and pinpoint root causes.
  • Plan and record work in the SAP maintenance module; log time, documentation, and corrective actions.
  • Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics; select correct grades/sizes of bolts, pipes, tubing, cables, and wires.
  • Inspect assets, identify defects, and dismantle safely with hoists, overhead cranes, and power tools.
  • Apply fundamentals across bearings, gearboxes, power transmission, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, welding principles, rigging, overhead cranes, and mobile equipment operation.
  • Produce clear mechanical maintenance reports that capture insights and trends.
  • Demonstrate dependability, meet quality expectations, and flex to meet business priorities.
