About The Position

This position provides an opportunity to transition from other private, public, government or military experience to a 3M career. As an Electromechanical Product Engineering Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. You will support product engineering, change activities, and other efforts for electromechanical Powered and Supplied Air Respiratory Systems. You will contribute to product design, testing, and development activities to improve product performance, quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction. You will work with cross-functional teams to complete product verification, validation, qualification, and manufacturing readiness activities. You will support product and process improvements by applying engineering principles, data analysis, and structured problem-solving methods. You will provide technical support to R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Business teams by investigating technical issues and developing practical solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or engineering discipline (completed and verified prior to start).
  • Experience applying engineering fundamentals to product development, testing, analysis, or process improvement activities.
  • Experience working effectively in a team environment and collaborating with cross-functional partners.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience in research and development, product development, design engineering, testing, manufacturing engineering, or related engineering functions in a private, public, government, or military environment.
  • Experience through internships, co-ops, research programs, or industry assignments supporting electromechanical products or systems.
  • Experience with product testing, design verification, validation, statistical analysis, or engineering data analysis.
  • Familiarity with risk management, DFMEA, root cause analysis, Design Controls, or product lifecycle management processes.
  • Demonstrated leadership through university research, technical organizations, professional societies, or cross-functional project teams.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Responsibilities

  • Support product engineering, change activities, and other efforts for electromechanical Powered and Supplied Air Respiratory Systems.
