About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking an Electro-Mechanical Assembler. Eaton's Calgary, Alberta site is a central hub for our electrical sector and is one of six Eaton Satellite locations across Canada. This strategic site is designed to support our larger manufacturing facilities and dedicated to meeting local market requirements, ensuring that we can effectively serve our customers. Here, you'll find key functions like Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and Assembly Operations. The hours for this position are Monday to Thurs 7-4 and Friday 7-1 What you’ll do: PRIMARY FUNCTION: Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this position is responsible to have a thorough knowledge of all standard Panelboard, Control Product and some custom product assemblies and all related materials required to complete the assembly. This role is located at one of our Eaton Satellite locations (6 in total), which are located across Canada and comprise of smaller assemble-to-order facilities and complement our medium to large manufacturing facilities within Canada.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma, GED or equivalent from an accredited institution is required.
  • An electrotechnical background, or Previous experience in a panel shop environment, specifically electrical panel building or wiring or both.
  • No relocation provided. Candidates must reside within 80 kilometers of Calgary, Alberta to be considered.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship now and in the future.
  • Effective communication / interpersonal skills
  • Reading, comprehension and mathematical skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge / experience with hand and power tools
  • Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates continuous learning through cross training, learning new skills, refreshing prior skill

Nice To Haves

  • 3 months experience working in a manufacturing environment

Responsibilities

  • Work to standard operating procedures, bill of materials, manufacturing information, and instruction from Management or Engineering to established procedures
  • Responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly by conducting Inspection for conformance to drawings and specifications, functional operation and appearance and making mechanical adjustments as needed
  • Perform pack and ship duties
  • Maintain equipment and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S
  • Assist team in achieving plant and department goals
  • Assist with on-the-job training and continuous improvement
  • Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton’s goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement through participation and teamwork
