Electro-Mechanical Assembler
About The Position
OMAX, located in Kent, WA, is seeking full-time Electro-Mechanical Assemblers to join their team. In this role, you will work as part of a team to assemble products using standard processes, documentation, systems, and tools. This includes using manual and power tools, fixtures, hoists, and precision measuring equipment. You will be responsible for assembling small to large electrical and mechanical components, routing wires, and installing low voltage electrical and electronic components such as circuit boards, communication (CAT5) and power cables, terminal boxes, main control switch panels, and instrument panels. The role also involves interpreting bills of materials, reading basic blueprints and schematics, troubleshooting mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic/electrical operating systems, and completing tasks with minimal supervision.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- 18 years or older.
- Electro-mechanical assembly experience preferred.
- Experience with Ohm/volt meters and measuring devices such as calipers and dial indicators.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Attention to detail and electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with soldering and testing connections.
- Experience working on larger electrical components.
- Basic computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to read instructions and use a tablet to navigate a material selection and pick parts needed for assembly.
- Relevant experience could also include electrical maintenance on vehicles, experience installing/repairing/troubleshooting electrical installations (wiring in a building, alarm systems, telecom, etc.).

- Experience with and exposure to 5S and Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles.
- Vocational or accredited certification within the electro-mechanical field.
Responsibilities

- Interpret bill of materials and read basic blueprints and schematics following written procedures.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electronic/electrical operating systems.
- Complete assigned tasks with little supervision.
