About The Position

We are currently hiring Commercial Electricians to work on commercial electrical projects in the Lincolnton, NC. area. Experience in commercial new construction or remodels is required. This role is ideal for strong commercial electricians. This is a full-time temporary position for a project expected to 5-8 months. You must live within commuting distance of Lincolnton, NC.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 6,000+ verifiable hours worked in the electrical trade
  • Valid state issued Driver’s License
  • Current state Electrical Apprentice license
  • Current OSHA 10 certificate
  • Employment may be contingent upon completion of a background check consistent with applicable law and company policy.
  • Proficient with timesheet or payroll software.
  • Advanced knowledge of electrical theory.
  • Comprehend and apply NEC knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of NEC calculations.
  • Basic knowledge of control systems and components.
  • Understand construction trades.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  • Working knowledge of basic hand tools and voltage testers.
  • Ability to understand and communicate work instructions and safety information effectively.
  • Ability to travel by car and plane, with overnight travel for extended periods of time.
  • Walk, climb, lift, bend, squat, kneel, push, pull, twist, and reach overhead routinely and repetitively.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.
  • Regularly work from elevated spaces for extended periods of time, including ladders, man lifts, scaffolding, or reach booms.
  • Climb ladder with 30 pounds.
  • Balance on normal work surfaces.
  • Comfortable in tight spaces (occasionally).
  • Reach, handle, grasp, and pull cables, wires, tools, and equipment.
  • Focus close up and far away (with or without correction).
  • Distinguish color coded wires.
  • Use peripheral vision and exercise depth perception.

  • Good troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all types of conduit bending with any bender apparatus, including 90s, kicks and offsets.
  • Install raceways, boxes, and cables.
  • Install light fixtures, devices, and cover plates.
  • Install electrical switchgear, including components such as switchboards, panels, load centers, motor control centers, breakers, transformers, and disconnect switches.
  • Use multi-meters for measuring voltage, amperage, resistance, and more.
  • Connect branch circuits, including terminations, panels, and equipment.
  • Perform basic trouble shooting and testing of electrical systems.
  • Assist other employees as needed.
  • Help team with wire pulling activities.
  • Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and jobsite.
  • Handle and organize materials.
  • Assist with inventory.
  • Pick up and deliver materials as needed.
  • Attend all safety classes and meetings.
  • Continually upgrade skills and knowledge through research and education, working toward next apprentice level.
  • Present clean image with a positive attitude and demeanor.
  • Follow instruction from senior team members.
  • Maintain good working relationships with team.
  • Observe safe work practices and follow safety procedures.
  • Assist team in maintaining a safe work environment.
