About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Plant Operations Manager, the Electrician installs, replaces, repairs, and maintains hospital electrical equipment, motors, control panels, relays, switchboards, switches, etc. The role involves working from oral or written orders, wiring diagrams, specifications, and blueprints, and installing new or used equipment.

Requirements

Vocational or other technical school, certification, training or apprenticeship required beyond high school.
Minimum of one (1) year experience.
Valid Florida Driver's License.
Valid Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) that is acceptable to PMC’s corporate automobile insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

Observes good housekeeping practices and cleans up work area after each task.
Keeps work area, shop, and vehicles neat and organized.
Uses required tools safely and correctly for assigned tasks.
Acquires and returns tools to correct locations in good operating condition.
Has knowledge of all electrical systems at PMC and can read blueprints/schematics to locate circuits.
Has a good understanding of breaker locations for equipment throughout the facilities.
Follows good time management practices and utilizes all time to benefit Parrish Healthcare.
Communicates with the team to bundle work orders when going off-site.
Provides cooperative and courteous service to visitors, patients, staff, vendors, and co-workers.
Practices good teamwork with all in the shop.
Locates/orders appropriate parts/supplies for repairs and maintenance activities, follows up on orders, and ensures parts and supplies are stored correctly.
Utilizes the work order system to track activities and time, creates and completes work orders correctly, enters clear comments on completed work, and logs time correctly.
Completes assigned and unassigned training, including cross-training, to better prepare for multiple tasks.
Assists in training others on the team.
Completes assigned PMs in a timely manner.
Fills out work orders and reports correctly and accurately, and turns in applicable reports in a timely manner.
Maintains and inspects the Emergency Power System for applicable PMC facilities.
Repairs/replaces defective electrical devices as assigned.
Installs new work in facilities as assigned.
Serves as the point of contact for electrical vendors performing work at Parrish Facilities.
Understands role and responds to all applicable disasters and drills.
Knows fire, disaster, and safety procedures and regulations as pertains to the work area.
Performs similar or related duties as assigned.
