About The Position

The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment throughout the rubber manufacturing facility. This role ensures dependable, safe, and compliant operation of production machinery, power distribution systems, and plant infrastructure in accordance with electrical codes, Company policies, and work rules.

Requirements

  • Journeyworker Electrician certification or equivalent recognized Union apprenticeship completion.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, controls, and machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, work at heights, and perform physical tasks.
  • Willingness to work overtime, shift work, and respond to emergencies as needed.
  • Ability to use standard Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook.
  • Demonstrated communication skills.
  • Ability to submit to a panel interview process and complete a test.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in rubber manufacturing or process-heavy industries.
  • Familiarity with PLC systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar).
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics as they relate to electrical controls.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all required training for the role.
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical systems, including motors, drives, control panels, HVAC components, lighting, and power distribution equipment up to 600V.
  • Diagnose electrical issues using meters, schematics, PLC interfaces, and testing instruments.
  • Repair or replace wiring, conduit, breakers, fuses, motor starters, relays, sensors, solenoids, and other electrical components.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical components on rubber mixing, extrusion, molding, and curing equipment.
  • Work with maintenance and production teams to minimize downtime and respond quickly to equipment failures.
  • Assist with calibrations, adjustments, and electrical setup for machinery as required.
  • Troubleshoot PLC controlled systems and machine control circuits.
  • Assist with routine programming updates under supervision or per plant guidelines.
  • Maintain sensors, VFDs, HMIs, and automation components.
  • Follow all OSHA, NFPA 70E, and Company electrical safety standards.
  • Participate in lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and enforce safe work practices.
  • Ensure all electrical work meets national and local electrical codes.
  • Complete required documentation for maintenance logs, inspections, and work orders.
  • Install new electrical equipment, conduit, cable trays, and wiring systems.
  • Support capital projects and equipment upgrades.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and other skilled trades.
  • May perform duties outside the scope of this description as assigned to support plant objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
