About The Position

CAD Railway Industries is an ambitious Quebec company, in business for more than 60 years, specializing in the repair, conversion and reconditioning of railway equipment (cars and locomotives of all kinds) that has workshops and offices in Montreal (Lachine sector) and Alberta (under the Caltrax banner). Over the years, our mission has become more precise in order to become a responsible company that seeks to repair and extend the life of the equipment whose work our customers entrust to us or, in many situations, to modernize it and literally give it a 2nd life. In their projects, our teams therefore see to designing equipment that will meet the needs of these same customers who work on both the cargo and passenger side.

Requirements

  • DEP (Vocational Diploma) in maintenance or construction electricity;
  • Ability to read procedures in English;
  • Good physical condition;
  • Ability to work in challenging conditions: heat and cold, noise, dust, odors, confined spaces, and at heights;

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a railway environment is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, and specifications to determine the location of electrical equipment;
  • Install, inspect, replace, and repair electrical wiring, outlets, switch boxes, conduits, raceways, fiber optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures, and other components;
  • Perform testing of electrical and electronic equipment and components to verify continuity, current, voltage, and resistance;
  • Maintain, repair, install, and test switching devices, transformers, meters, distribution panels, regulators, and reactors;
  • Maintain, repair, install, and test electric motors, generators, alternators, industrial storage batteries, and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems;
  • Complete production reports;
  • Perform any other tasks required by operations.
