About The Position

Wabtec Foundry is currently seeking a Plant Electrician to join our team. This role requires a licensed Electrician with experience in an Industrial setting, who is versatile and practical, with strong troubleshooting skills. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Plant Electrician will be responsible for addressing any equipment issues to support production activities, inspections and preventative maintenance on all equipment as required, support for continuous improvement efforts in the plant.

Requirements

  • Electrical License issued in Ontario (442A or 309A considered)
  • Minimum of 2 years or more experience in an industrial environment
  • Willing to be flexible for shift coverage
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Ability to communicate in English (written and oral)
  • Able to work independently and also be a team player
  • Willing to take challenges and show initiative
  • Exhibits strong work ethic

Responsibilities

  • Repairs and maintains all equipment and machines within the building to ensure the efficient, safe operation of all machinery with the shortest down-time
  • Inspects all machinery for defects and potential problems in accordance with preventative maintenance program, repairing and replacing parts as required
  • Modifies machinery and equipment as needed to support continuous improvement efforts
  • Repairs, maintains and installs electrical components, wiring and electrical equipment of all machinery and facilities of the plant
  • Works with other skilled trades in the plant to troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Works with management and peers to plan repairs and projects
  • Troubleshoots equipment issues and carries out necessary repairs
  • Ensures all electrical parts, wiring and equipment conform to electrical code requirements and are operating in a safe, efficient manner
  • Identify and report any hazard(s) in the workplace
  • Performs preventative electrical maintenance procedures as required
  • Conducts electrical tests and maintains maintenance and repair records as required
  • Complies with all company rules, policies and regulations
  • Practices good housekeeping
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned
  • Works with or assists other maintenance employees with other types of repairs, troubleshooting or removal/install of equipment when needed.
