Job Description The Electrician II performs routine maintenance and repair duties required to ensure continuous and safe operation of hospital and essential equipment. This position maintains facility electrical components, normal and emergency power distribution and utilization, secondary electrical systems and components, provides electrical safety programs for building and non-medical equipment. Works with internal and external contractors to ensure operational integrity of electrical systems and components.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current electrician license or 2 years formal education or equivalent experience in electrical theory application or current enrollment in an apprenticeship program
  • Minimum three years’ mechanical, electrical experience or electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Provides effective and responsible electrical system and major equipment repairs.
  • Utilizes reference drawings and operations and maintenance manuals for electrical distribution and equipment being maintained.
  • Inspection, performance testing, preventative maintenance of hospital normal and emergency electrical systems.
  • Works with electrical contractors to ensure standards and codes are met.
  • Assists with or performs a variety of maintenance and repair activities including mechanical, electrical and plumbing, routine facilities services.
  • Is on call for both routine maintenance and trade maintenance.
  • Has working operational knowledge of building automation system and computerized maintenance system.
  • Assists in the installation and maintenance of major movable building equipment including all items associated with the power distribution and the physical plant.
  • If no current electrician license all work will be performed under a licensed Journeyman electrician
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested
