About The Position

We are currently seeking an Electricians for the Truck Shop to join our maintenance team at our North Antelope Rochelle Mine (NARM). NARM is the United States largest surface coal mine and is located in Wright, Wyoming. The mine produces high quality thermal coal that is loaded onto haul trucks and then shipped by rail. It has approximately 465 million tons of coal reserves. As part of Campbell County, Wright is a safe, tight-knit community with outstanding schools, and various recreational opportunities. Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of: 12V / 24V DC electrical systems, Basic AC systems (as applicable to shop equipment), Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, Propulsion systems, wheel motors, main alternator, power stack, choppers, etc.
  • Experience with: CAN bus systems and electronic controls, OEM diagnostic software (e.g., CAT ET, Komatsu, etc.)
  • Proficient with diagnostic tools: Multimeter, test light, amp clamp
  • High school diploma or GED
  • MSHA Surface Certification (Part 46 or 48) (If candidate does not have MSHA Electrical card employee will be required to obtain within two years of employment.)

Nice To Haves

  • 2–5 years of heavy equipment or diesel electrical experience
  • Experience with large mining haul trucks or similar heavy equipment
  • OEM haul truck electrical training

Responsibilities

  • Follow all MSHA regulations, company policies, and safe work procedures
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems on haul trucks, including: Starting and charging systems, Lighting, sensors, and onboard monitoring systems, Wiring harnesses, connectors, and junction boxes, Propulsion systems, wheel motors, main alternator, power stack, choppers, etc.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot: Electronic control modules (ECMs) and onboard diagnostics, Electric drive systems (where applicable), Propulsion systems, wheel motors, main alternator, power stacks, choppers, etc.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce unscheduled downtime
  • Diagnose faults using: OEM diagnostic software and service tools, Electrical schematics and wiring diagrams
  • Identify root causes of electrical failures and implement effective repairs
  • Support troubleshooting of intermittent and complex system faults
  • Repair or replace: Alternators, starters, sensors, switches, relays, and control modules, Batteries and battery management systems
  • Perform wiring repairs, terminations, and harness replacements
  • Ensure all repairs meet OEM and company standards
  • Primarily work in the truck shop but support field repairs as needed
  • Assist with equipment change-outs and major component replacements
  • Coordinate with mechanics, planners, and supervisors on repair timelines
  • Accurately complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records
  • Communicate equipment status, delays, and parts needs clearly
