About The Position

The Electrician - Interior position performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

Requirements

In general, the work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
Must have a minimum of six (6) years journey-level experience and have completed a formal apprenticeship or equivalent formal vocational/technical training program on industrial electrical systems. Each complete year of accredited college education in a related field may be substituted for the equivalent number of years of required experience.
Must maintain required city/county/state license(s) and/or certification(s), where applicable.
Must be able to operate and work from various lifts and bucket trucks.
Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (Tier 1) background check.
Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
Must possess the ability to work in a high-volume office area and interface in a positive manner with co-workers and the customer.
Must possess the ability to work in a team or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.
Performs all assigned duties in accordance with established policies, procedures, and directives.
Displays courtesy and skill in dealing with internal and external customers, coworkers, and management.
Accurately maintains and updates records to enable quick and efficient retrieval of information.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice.

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors environments. Some work is performed with exposure to low to loud noise level; frequent fieldwork is required with exposure to a variety of weather conditions and the external environment; tasks may require working in tightly enclosed spaces and the use of ladders or other safety equipment to gain access to hard-to-reach locations; some work is performed in crawl spaces, attics or on rooftops. Some work may require exposure to dust, particulates, unpleasant and potentially hazardous substances and high voltage.
Duties require on a continuous basis to sit, stand, bend, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twist for varying periods in the course of work; use hands and fingers to grasp tools; make repetitive hand and body motions; twist and reach below and above shoulder; lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; to communicate with co-workers using a two-way radio; use telephone, and write or use a keyboard to communicate through written means; see in the normal vision range with or without correction to read computer screen, blueprints, and drafting plans; hear in the normal range with or without correction.
Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle.
Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.

Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 50 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching for long periods of time.
Must be able to work from a scissor lift and/or articulating boom lift.
Must be able to work on-call, alternate, and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements, including weekends and holidays.
Work may be performed indoors or outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to work in confined spaces, at heights, and around various hazards with appropriate PPE

Responsibilities

Installing or repairing any of a variety of electrical equipment such as exterior lighting / circuits, generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment; working from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
Locating and diagnosing trouble in the electrical system or equipment; working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
Using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
Will be responsible for working with vendors to procure quotes for replacement parts and equipment, will also be responsible for the proper documentation of work performed and materials used.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
