About The Position

W-Industries is an energy service company that specializes in Automation Solutions, I&E Construction Services, Power Generation and Packaged Equipment for the Energy and Industrial markets. Our expertise encompasses the full spectrum of system technologies from pneumatic - hydraulic control systems to state-of-the-art programmable solutions to chemical injection systems, and everything in-between. W-Industries is seeking Electrical Technicians/Electricians with 2 to 3 years of experience. Position involves bending conduit, pulling cable, cable termination, installing controls, wire trays and working on electrical systems. This position requires Travelling to the job site.

Requirements

  • Read and understand P&ID’s (symbols, tags and instrument lines), wiring diagrams and instrument loop drawings.
  • Understand how to read and translate the information found within all schematic wiring P&ID’s process diagrams and experience with applicable codes and standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and listening skills required.
  • Proven problem solver, results focused, self-motivated.
  • Ability to work at heights.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Must be able to work individually and on a team.
  • 2 to 3 years of Electrical experience (This is a must)

Nice To Haves

  • Electrical Certification
  • Forklift/Boom lift Certification

Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threading machine and conduit bender.
  • Install, modify and fabricate cable trays accordingly to drawings & P&ID’s.
  • Read and understand Electrical schematics, P&ID’s (symbols, tags and instrument lines), wiring diagrams and instrument loop drawings.
  • Pull wiring through wiring raceways, assisted by helper.
  • Load, transport and unload tools, equipment and supplies.
  • Mount and install grounding leads
  • Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope.
  • Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
  • Installs control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with screws or bolts using hand or power tools.
  • Assist in lifting, positioning and securing of material and work pieces during installation.
  • Work on electrical systems ranging from 12VCD to 480VAC; electrical meters and diagnostics tools for troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Perform minor maintenance of cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures including lockout/tag out procedures.
  • Perform other duties as required.
