In this job, you will provide your skilled electrical services to our Florida retail stores. This is a traveling position, with company vehicle provided and full travel expenses paid. The electrician is also paid for drive time to and from work locations in the state of Florida. This is a traveling position and requires reporting to the SSC in Orlando on Mondays before leaving out for the week. Travel is approx. 50 weeks out of the year.

Requirements

Experienced commercial electrician skills required
Self-started, able to work independently
Must pass company-issued background check
Must have solid driving record
Solid communication skills to work with store staff and corporate office
Must pass company-issued drug testing
Must be able to climb to high spaces, and/or crawl to low spaces
Eye dexterity for long and short-range vision
Ability to lift and move equipment and tools, up to 35 pounds
Physically able to drive long distances in vehicle
Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for electrical wiring and other work

Responsibilities

Plan new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provides access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes
Follow diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring
Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduits
Pull wiring through conduits
Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps
Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
Installs control and distributions apparatus such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels
Connect power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor and installs grounding leads
Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer, and oscilloscope
Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
Repair faulty equipment or systems
Other duties as assigned by your supervisor
