We are recognized leaders in physical and IT security, cyber, and managed services. UT Government is seeking to add an experienced Electrician to their Install Team. This role involves installing, programming, terminating, and commissioning a wide range of access control products and systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Virginia electrician license (Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice level).
  • Minimum 3+ years of field experience in low-voltage, security system installation, or integration.
  • Ability to Work on classified or sensitive government facilities.
  • Able to Follow strict security protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of all electrical work performed.
  • Adhere to federal safety and environmental regulations.
  • Ability to obtain a Government Clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Current OSHA safety certification preferred.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge of federal electrical standards and specifications.
  • Proficiency with electrical testing equipment and hand tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and/or repair electrical power, communications, security and control systems.
  • Install conduit, wiring, outlets, and electrical panels.
  • Test electrical systems using multimeters and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot and test electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections, testing devices, and computer software.
  • Reassemble and test equipment after repairs.
  • Adjust, repair, or replace defective wiring and relays in security and safety control systems, using electrician's tools.
  • Locate, remove, install and/or repair circuit defects such as blown fuses or circuit breakers.
  • Maintain equipment service records.
  • Refer to schematics and manufacturers' specifications that show connections and provide instructions on how to locate problems.
  • Install security equipment, outlets, terminal boards, switches, and wall boxes, using hand tools.
  • Install new fuses, electrical cables, or power sources as required.
  • Cut openings and drill holes for fixtures, outlet boxes, and fuse holders, using electric drills and routers.
  • Able to professionally communicate with customers to determine the nature of malfunctions.
  • Estimate costs of repairs based on parts and labor requirements.
  • Measure, cut, and install frameworks and conduit to support and connect wiring, control panels, and junction boxes, using hand tools.
  • Complies with insurance and safety requirements and standards.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment on all job sites.
  • Participate in internal and onsite meetings to report progress and resolve issues.
  • Attend ongoing technical and safety training to stay current with industry best practices and technologies.
