About The Position

Arclin is looking to hire a certified Electrician at our Cobourg, ON location. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this full time position will be responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair duties for on-site equipment. This role is required to know and perform all assigned functions in compliance with Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) regulations and Arclin’s policies and procedures to contribute positively to an efficient and safely run operation.

Requirements

  • Degree/Certification in Electrical or Electronics Technology program
  • Valid construction and maintenance OR Industrial Electrician License
  • 2 years of experience in a fast-paced, dynamic industrial environment required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Instrumentation, control relays, PLCs, drives and other automation components preferred
  • Exposure to work on pneumatic, hydraulic, and steam systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper operation of machinery and equipment by completing inspection, testing, and PM requirements
  • Must be able to work safely around all mechanical equipment (lock out/tag out procedures, confined space procedures, etc.)
  • Locate sources of problems by listening to and observing the operation of electrical equipment using PLC programs, precision measuring equipment, tools and deductive logic
  • Remove and replace defective parts by dismantling and reassembling the equipment in proper configuration
  • Clean, lubricate, and adjust electrical parts, equipment and machinery to obtain proper operating conditions
  • Examine parts for defects such as opens, shorts, insulation breakdowns, wear, burns or breakage to determine underlying cause and effect of machine performance
  • Adjust functional parameters or programs to obtain desired machine operational results
  • Provide electrical maintenance information by answering questions, filling out reports, analyzing information, and keeping track of consumed parts and supplies
  • Contributes to the Maintenance team by accomplishing other tasks as needed
  • Know and follow all applicable Federal and Provincial standards and company procedures
  • Effectively use CMMS to enter work orders and track details of work completed
