About The Position

Artazn is seeking to hire an Electrician for direct hire opportunities. The role involves installing, repairing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment throughout the facility, adhering to NFP 70 safety standards. The position offers competitive compensation starting at $30+/hour, a shift premium, and a comprehensive benefits package. Training will be on the day shift, with subsequent assignment to 2nd or 3rd shift based on availability. The role also includes responsibilities as an Emergency Responder for the coinage chlorinesystem, which may involve assessing, stopping, and repairing minor chlorine leaks, and requires the use of respiratory protection equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma with Journeyman Electrician's card OR three to five years of industrial electrician experience.
  • Three to five years of industrial experience, preferably in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Industrial power systems, including medium voltage equipment systems.
  • Highly familiar with the structure and information described in schematics.
  • Expert knowledge of the National Electrical Code.
  • Skilled in the use of various electrician tools, including multimeter, high voltage sensing equipment, and amp meter.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules/programs, schematics, prints, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to use a systematic approach in troubleshooting and solving problems.
  • Certify to operate a forklift.
  • Willingness to work 8 or 12-hour shifts, evenings, nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.
  • No direct threat to the health or safety of himself/herself or others.

Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Install power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as conveyors and programmable controllers.
  • Connect power supply wires to machines and automated equipment, and connect cables and wires between machines and equipment.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, and replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Diagnose and repair or replace faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair programmable, automated machinery and related systems.
  • Plan layout of wiring and install wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings.
  • Act as an Emergency Responder to repair malfunctions in the coinage chlorinesystem, which may include assessing, stopping, and repairing minor chlorine leaks.
  • Complete all emergency response tasks as directed by Department Supervision or the Emergency Coordinator.
  • Be fit tested for and use company-supplied respiratory protection equipment (air purifying respirators and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) unless medically disqualified.
  • Participate in lean and quality team concepts.
