About The Position

As a Union Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in compliance with local and national electrical codes. You will work independently or as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of electrical systems in various settings, including commercial, industrial, and residential environments. Roman Electric handles industrial, commercial, institutional, and residential work, including new construction, remodeling, repair, and service. Requirements

  • Willingness to obtain valid journeyman electrician license
  • In Progress of electrical apprenticeship program or 8000+ hours of on-the-job training in an electrician capacity and willingness to transfer into a union setting
  • Strong knowledge of local and national electrical codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using electrical hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong Technical Aptitude
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on a wide range of electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and control systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical problems in a timely and efficient manner. Identify and rectify issues with wiring, circuits, fuses, and other components.
  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with local and national electrical codes and regulations. Keep up to date with any changes in codes or standards.
  • Work with Journeyman or Foreman to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of electrical systems and components.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with other team members, contractors, and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including work orders, equipment inspections, and materials used.
  • Stay current with advancements in electrical technology, tools, and equipment. Attend relevant training and professional development sessions as required.
