About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors, Inc. is seeking an Electrician for a project in Roanoke, Virginia. The role involves electrical installation work, including cable tray, wire pulling, conduit bending, panel termination, and work with motor controls and metering. Candidates hired for the project will be considered for benefits and paid time off after three months. Significant travel may be required.

Requirements

• Skilled in written and verbal communication.
• Complete all safety and general job training required by SIC.
• Follow SIC and customer safety and quality processes and procedures at all times.
• Effectively use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Lift up to 50 pounds.
• Safely access property, buildings, structures, wharves, rooftops, elevated positions, and confined spaces.
• Safely operate all equipment and tools involved in the work.
• Stand for long periods, bend consistently, and work in confined spaces with limited access, on ladders and personnel lifts, in workboats, and in awkward body positions.
• Meet the strenuous physical demands required to perform the essential functions safely.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow blueprints, sketches, building plans, and directions.
• Prepare work layouts using tools such as voltage testers, wire strippers, levels, and pipe benders.
• Terminate panels using lockout/tagout (LOTO).
• Plan installation sequences to avoid obstructions and conflicts with other construction activities.
• Run cable tray, pull wire, and bend various types of conduit.
• Work with motor controls and metering.
• Size branch-circuit overcurrent protection devices and calculate loads for single-phase and three-phase branch circuits.
• Work within specified limits and standards of accuracy, and assess information using measurable standards.
• Compare the size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.
• Work in overhead, beneath-structure, and other positions as required by site conditions.
• Make decisions based on measurable criteria and visualize three-dimensional objects from plans and drawings.
• Lift and carry objects of varying weights.
• Recognize and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Complete other duties as required.
